Different archives return different results for the same query. This is normal and worth understanding rather than working around.
Reasons
Different capture times. A score sampled an hour after posting differs from the same score sampled a week later. Neither is wrong; they describe different moments.
Different collection windows. Every archive has periods where collection was degraded or stopped. Those periods rarely align across projects.
Different handling of edits. If a post was edited between captures, the archives hold different versions.
Different coverage decisions. Projects vary in what they collect and retain.
What Subdex does
Records sharing a Reddit ID are merged into one. Fields that differ are kept alongside each other with the conflict recorded, rather than one being chosen.
This is deliberate. Silently preferring one source would produce a cleaner-looking result that conceals a real uncertainty.
What it means for you
If a figure matters, check which source produced it. If two sources disagree substantially about something central to your work, that disagreement is itself a finding — it tells you the record is less settled than a single number suggests.
